The Pre-Tribulation Rapture–A Parachute That Will Not Open

Millions of Christians are depending on a pre-tribulation “rapture” to save them from going through the Great Tribulation Period.  But it is a parachute that will not open.  This teaching has become so pervasive since 1900 that few question its truthfulness.

I certainly don’t blame my Christian brethren for wanting to escape all the destruction that’s coming to this earth during the Tribulation.  And I do certainly believe in a “catching away” of the saints when He comes back.  But the Rapure doctrine teaches that He will come for His church before the tribulation starts.  That sounds so good.  But there’s only one thing wrong.  The scriptures don’t back it up.  They speak of Christ coming back and the church being “caught up to meet Him in the air” at the end of the Tribulation.

Proponents of the “rapture” teaching usually base it on one-half of one verse in the Bible. It is found in I Thessalonians 4:17.  Christ comes back to earth; and the Christians who have died shall be raised first.  “Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.”

We see here that Christians, who will have been changed into their spiritual bodies (II Cor. 5:1-2) “shall be caught up” to meet Christ as He nears touch-down on earth.  We will meet Him “in the clouds” and “in the air.”  Clouds and air are only found in the earth’s atmosphere!  We will rise up to meet Him in the earth’s atmosphere, and then we will come right back down here to earth!

And so shall we ever be with the Lord.” This is the second half of verse 17 that is never quoted.  He is coming back to earth at the end of the Great Tribulation Period, and since we are ever to be with Him, then we will be coming right back to earth with Him!

I Thessalonians 4:17 does not support Christians being caught away into the third heaven, the traditional concept of heaven, mystically up there somewhere in another dimension.  Yes, there is a rising up in our new spiritual bodies, to meet Him for a moment “in the clouds” and “in the air.”  However, it is a temporary lift-off, for He is on His way to earth, and we are ever to “be with the Lord.”

He is coming here to establish His 1000 year reign of peace, setting up His government, the Kingdom of God, right here on earth.  And few doubt that He will come back here after the Tribulation Period is over.  So the “catching away of the saints” happens at the end of the Tribulation Period, at the moment of Christ’s return to earth to establish His Milennial Reign.

This “Rapture Doctrine” is of utmost importance for us to either prove or disprove, for our families’ future is at stake.   We are told to “purge out the old leaven” doctrines ( see post https://immortalityroad.wordpress.com/2008/04/21/brutal-honesty-with-ourselves-purging-out-the-old-leaven/ )

Future posts will show scripturally the church, the body of Christ, active here on earth during the Tribulation Period. We as God’s princes and princesses must get this right.  We must study these things out in great detail in order to prepare ourselves to be rulers in His kingdom (see “Studying to Be…” at https://immortalityroad.wordpress.com/2008/02/23/studying-to-be-a-prince-and-princess-of-god/ ).   What’s your thoughts?         Kenneth Wayne Hancock

  1. Commenting on the utterly aberrant views of Kenneth Wayne Hancock’s “The Rapture –
A Parachute that will Not Open” in his “Immortality Road” blogsite.

    Dear Ken,

Amazing how your interpretation of the rapture event which most mainstream Christians have no problem believing is diametrically opposite the view of their exclusive Messiah, Jesus (Anglicized Hebrew: Yeshua) in the gospels which He has taught from Christianity’s inception as did His apostle Paul.

If you want to be a Christian, there is no reason to doubt what the Lord Jesus taught in the New Testament gospels.

Any literate person who really wants to know the Truth about the pre-tribulation rapture event need go no farther than the gospels of Matthew and Luke and to believe what Jesus Himself said in prophecy while on earth during the Roman historical period.

If you want to be a real, believing Christian, then I would not have you ignorant about the prophetic words of Jesus in Matthew, Chapter 24 verses 40 and 41:

“Then shall two women be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.”

The Lord’s prophetic words found in Matthew are corroborated in the gospel of Luke,
    Chapter 17 verses 34, 35 and 36:

“I tell you in that night there shall be two men in a bed, the one shall be taken and the other left. Two women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken , and the other left. Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.”

So put Yeshua’s own words into your eschatological pipe and smoke on it! Are you literate or not? Also read and understand what Christ’s apostle Paul concluded in his first epistle to the early Thessalonian church at Chapter 4 verse 18:

“Wherefore comfort one another with these words.” speaking of the prior verses 13 through 17 of 1 Thessalonians.

Please come to your senses and learn BEFORE attempting to place your aberrant stumbling blocks and blogs before the sincere, faithful believers in Yeshua.

Thank you, Jonah Immanu, for your fervent comments. Somehow I think that you must not have read this entire post, for in it I go into proofs that our Savior Yahshua will return to earth and that His saints will be “caught up to meet Him in the air.” Where we differ is that I believe that the scriptures support this event as coming at the end of the seven-year Tribulation Period–not before. Goodness, my brother. I wanted to stir you up, but please read the whole post first. It is a literate piece, and you will readily see where I intricately proved that we Christians (you and I) will receive our promised new spiritual bodies and will rise up to the clouds to meet Him, and then come right back down here to earth to roll up our sleeves and be with Him to clean up the unfinished business found strewn across the globe. Please check back again, for more posts are on the way showing the church, His body of believers, His elect, smack dab in the middle of the Tribulation Period. And yes, I believe that “one will be taken, the other left”–at the end of Tribulation. Thank you again for caring enough to comment. K W Hancock

Thank you, Jonah, for your sincerity on this issue. Two things you need to ponder on this issue. The Jews were composed of mainly two tribes, Judah and Benjamin. The other ten tribes were known as the Kingdom of Israel and were never known as “Jews.” They are referred to as Israelites.

The elect are Christ’s body, His special chosen ones, the church. That is scriptural. No where does scripture say “saved Jewish believers.” The 144,000 are members of the church who have grown up unto Him, who have become just like Christ (“greater works shall ye do”). They are not “Jewish” at all. You know good and well that God’s elect is His body. The book of Colossians is full of that knowledge.

I appreciate your thoughts. Hopefully our discussion will cause others to study these things out for themselves. KW Hancock

COMPARE YOUR ABOVE STATEMENTS W/- THE FOLLOWING:
      See: 144,000 –“They are not Jewish at all”? – Rev. 7:3, 4-8; w/ Jn. 5:24-25; 1 Pet. 3:18-19; 1 Pet. 4:6; & Heb. 12:22-23 – “Spirits of just men made perfect” w/-Rev. 14:1-5
      Romans11:1-5
1 I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I {the Apostle Paul} also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. 2 God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew. Wot ye not what the scripture saith of Elias? how he maketh intercession to God against Israel, saying, 3 Lord, they have killed thy prophets, and digged down thine altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life. 4 But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal. 5 Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.

Romans9:3-8 3 For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh: 4 Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises; 5 Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen.
6 Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel: 7 Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called. 8 That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.

Galatians6:15-16 15 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature. 16 And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God.

Galatians3:28-29 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Romans2:28-29 28 For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: 29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.

Revelation2:9 9 I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.

Revelation3:9 9 Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.

Galatians5:6-12 6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love. 7 Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth? 8 This persuasion cometh not of him that calleth you. 9 A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump. 10 I have confidence in you through the Lord, that ye will be none otherwise minded: but he that troubleth you shall bear his judgment, whosoever he be. 11 And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution? then is the offence of the cross ceased. 12 I would they were even cut off which trouble you.

Colossians3:10-11 10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him: 11 Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.

Romans2:8-11 8 But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath, 9 Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile; 10 But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile: 11 For there is no respect of persons with God.

      Matthew10:5-7
5 These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not: 6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. 7 And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Matthew15:24-28 24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. 25 Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me. 26 But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to dogs. 27 And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table. 28 Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.

Romans15:8-12 8 Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers: 9 And that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy; as it is written, For this cause I will confess to thee among the Gentiles, and sing unto thy name. 10 And again he saith, Rejoice, ye Gentiles, with his people. 11 And again, Praise the Lord, all ye Gentiles; and laud him, all ye people. 12 And again, Esaias saith, There shall be a root of Jesse, and he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in him shall the Gentiles trust.

Acts13:46-49 46 Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles. 47 For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth. 48 And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed. 49 And the word of the Lord was published throughout all the region.

Galatians2:7-8 7 But contrariwise, when they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision was committed unto me, as the gospel of the circumcision was unto Peter; 8 (For he that wrought effectually in Peter to the apostleship of the circumcision, the same was mighty in me toward the Gentiles

Hebrews2:11-13 11 For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren, 12 Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee. 13 And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold I and the children which God hath given me.

John10:28-29 28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.

Re: “Aberrant Views.” I have been accused of having an “aberrant view” of Christianity. “Aberrant” means “differing substantially from the usual or natural type; atypical.”
Jesus Christ (Yahshua), then, had an aberrant view, a view of God that caused the Jewish high priest to conspire with Roman authority to crucify Him. His views were so atypical that no one in His day would walk with Him. His view of “true religion” was totally different than the Pharisees and Sadducees, the religious leaders of His day. And we know what Christ accused them of: “Ye are of your father the devil.” The hypocrites of His day 2000 years ago had accepted the Talmud, the Jewish traditions of the elders, over the word of Yahweh and His patriarchs and prophets.
The apostle Paul also held “aberrant views” as he earnestly contended “for the faith once delivered to the saints.” Paul’s “aberrant views” landed him in prison and left for dead after being stoned.
The Truth Himself said this: “Narrow is the gate that leads to life, and FEW there be that find it” (Matt. 7:14). The teaming masses will not have the true life that He is talking about; only a few will have it. And they will seem “aberrant” in their views to the many.
Therefore, not having views like those in the mainstream does not prove that those views are false.
But it is all good. I rejoice that we live in a country where we have freedom of speech and expression and freedom of religion, where we can have a friendly debate on issues. The operative word is “friendly.”
A blessing to all, Kenneth Wayne Hancock

  5. Wow! This is a great Blog….
    1. 144,000 in Rev. Ch. 7 is the “FirstFruits” of the “Early Rain” when the Savior was Resurrected.

    2. In Revelation 11 {when the witness is resurrected} and II Cor. 5:1-2 is the “FirstFruits” of the Latter Rain. The Clouds are “Starships or the Chariots of YahWeh” that Elisha and Elijah referred to.
Here is a Link for a comprehensive study on the study.
    http://www.bibleufo.com/zsitemap.htm

Both “groups” represent those that minister in the Most Holy Place.

    3. Rev. 12 the Woman has only 12 stars or tribes and not 13 {which represents the Melchisedek Priesthood} for they are Translated {Enoch} or Raptured; which means ‘taken away’.

In the Book of Jasher the Levitical Priesthood did not go into slavery for they recognized the “deceitful plan” of the Egyptians and symbolically represent the 144,000 or those that Minister in the Most Sacred Place. Oh, remember the Priesthood could marry {mystery}.

This ‘group’ in {Rev. 12} the wilderness is called Israel or Ysr Al {from all Nations} and will preach and go through Tribulation {But, will be protected like the Israelites in the land of Goshen}. The “man child” which was caught up {Elijah} represents the Priesthood in the Holy Place and is part of the body of Mashach YahWeh.

    4. Those that remain go through The Great Tribulation or Jacob’s Time of Trouble {which is also called the “Wrath of the Lamb”} for these are those who have to wrestle for their salvation and are lukewarm. This group belongs to the Outer Court of the Temple or Body.

Isa 44:5 “One shall say, I am YahWeh; and another shall call himself by the name of Jacob; and another shall subscribe [write] with his hand untoYahWeh, and surname himself by the name of Israel.”

Three groups comprising the Body of Mashach or the Temple. And there is a fourth….

Mind you I have not had a chance to refine this synopsis of events and some elements need refining and clarifications; with your help 🙂

    13 Tribes
13 Months; one added every 2-3 years in a 19 year cycle
    13 Children of Jacob {Dinah} but, with Joseph getting 2 shares making 14. {More to this….}
    13 Apostles {Paul or Shu’Al}

    Would appreciate your input….
    Bless you all,
    Sis YahWeh

  6. Oops! I mean….
1Th 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet The King {Mashach} in the air: and so shall we ever be with YahWeh.
    in love,
    Sis YahWeh

    Reply
Wayne, I found your statements concerning the difference in scripture between Jews, Israelites, and the elect somewhat confusing. Especially to those of us who are not as familiar as you are with the Scriptures and the history of Israel. For instance:
    You said:
The JEWS were composed of mainly two tribes, JUDAH and BENJAMIN….The other TEN TRIBES …were NEVER KNOWN AS JEWS. They are REFERRED TO AS ISRAELITES.”

However, the APOSTLE PAUL, of the tribe of BENJAMIN, referred to himself (and also his brethren, his KINSMEN according to the flesh) as “ISRAELITES”. -(Rom. 9:3-4; Rom. 11:1)

    You said:
The elect are Christ’s body, His special chosen ones, the church.
Yes! I agree, “The elect are Christ’s body, the church.
    You also said:
NOWHERE does scripture say “SAVED JEWISH BELIEVERS.”

I disagree! Nowhere does scripture say “SAVED GENTILE BELIEVERS”. Nevertheless, many Gentiles as well as Jews have been saved. When Jesus sent his 12 Apostles to preach the gospel of the kingdom, He told them “Go not into the way of the Gentiles … but go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel (Matt. 10:5). The lost sheep of the house of Israel were to be the FIRST to hear the gospel –AND INDEED THEY WERE: (Acts 2:1-5-14 -21,22-32-36-41; Acts 11:19; Matt. 15:24-28; Rom. 15:8-12) Acts 13:46-49).

    Acts2:1-41 –{in part}
And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. 3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. 5 And there were dwelling at Jerusalem JEWS, DEVOUT MEN, OUT OF EVERY NATION under heaven … 14 But PETER, standing up WITH THE ELEVEN, LIFTED UP HIS VOICE, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and HEARKEN TO MY WORDS … 21 And it shall come to pass, that WHOSOEVER SHALL CALL ON THE NAME OF THE LORD shall BE SAVED. 22 YE MEN OF ISRAEL, HERE THESE WORDS; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know: … 32 This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses. 33 Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear. … 36 Therefore LET ALL THE HOUSE OF ISRAEL KNOW ASSUREDLY, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ. … . 41 Then they that GLADLY RECEIVED HIS WORD were baptized: and THE SAME DAY there were added unto them about THREE THOUSAND SOULS.

    Acts11:19-21
Now they which were scattered abroad upon the persecution that arose about Stephen travelled as far as Phenice, and Cyprus, and Antioch, PREACHING THE WORD TO NONE BUT unto THE JEWS ONLY. 20 And some of them were men of Cyprus and Cyrene, which, when they were come to Antioch, spake unto the Grecians, PREACHING THE LORD JESUS. 21 And the hand of the Lord was with them: and A GREAT NUMBER BELIEVED, and TURNED TO THE LORD.

    Acts13:46-49
Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was NECESSARY that the word of God should FIRST HAVE BEEN SPOKEN TO YOU: but seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles.

    Galatians2:7-8
But contrariwise, when they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision was committed unto me {the Apostle Paul}, as the gospel of the circumcision was unto Peter; 8 (For HE THAT WROUGHT EFFECTIVELY IN PETER to the apostleship of the circumcision, THE SAME WAS MIGHTY IN ME toward the GENTILES)

According to the foregoing Scriptures and contrary to your statement that “NOWHERE does scripture say “saved Jewish believers”, many JEWS as well as Gentiles have been SAVED throughout the ages; all of which were made ONE in the body of Christ, the church.

    You said:
“THE 144,000 are members of the church who have grown up unto Him, who have become just like Christ (“greater works shall ye do”). THEY ARE NOT “JEWISH” AT ALL.”

In Revelation 7:3-8, “The SERVANTS OF GOD”, the 144,000 of ALL the tribes of the CHILDREN OF ISRAEL”, are sealed in their foreheads. The tribe Juda and the tribe of Benjamin are both included in the 144,000 – (vs.5&8).
According to my understanding of the inspired Scriptures, the 144,000 are the JEWISH REMNANT of the CHILDREN OF ISRAEL and members of the body of Christ, the church. The same remnant spoken of in the following Scriptures: Romans 9:27-29; Romans 11:1, 5, 15, 26; Revelation 7:3,4-8,9, 14; all of which are in view of the post- tribulation rapture of the church.
    Romans9:27-29
Esaias also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of CHILDREN OF ISRAEL be as the sand of the sea, A REMNANT SHALL BE SAVED: 28 For he will finish the work, and cut it short in righteousness: because a short work will the Lord make upon the earth. 29 And as Esaias said before, Except the Lord of Sabaoth had left us a seed, we had been as Sodoma, and been made like unto Gomorrha.

    Romans11:1
I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I ALSO AM AN ISRAELITE, of the seed of Abraham, of the TRIBE OF BENJAMIN.
    [cf. Rev. 7:4 & 8]

    Romans11:5 & 7
Even so then at this present time also there is a REMNANT according to the election of grace. … 7- …THE REST WERE BLINDED.
[“blinded until the fullness of the Gentiles be come in” – v.25]

    Romans11:15
For if the casting away of them {Israel} be the reconciling of the world, what shall the RECEIVING OF THEM be, but LIFE FROM THE DEAD?
    cf. Rev. 7:1, 3-4-8 {144,000 sealed} v.9- {great multitude in white robes- resurrection/rapture } v.14- {came out of great tribulation}]

    Romans11:25-26
For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that BLINDNESS IN PART is happened to ISRAEL, UNTIL the FULNESS OF THE GENTILES be COME IN. 26 And so ALL ISRAEL SHALL BE SAVED: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:

The above phrase “ALL ISRAEL SHALL BE SAVED” is NOT referring to the entire nation of Israel”. The Apostle Paul would never have written the following if that were the case. He unequivocally stated, “…they are not all Israel, which are of Israel”. His heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel was that “they MIGHT BE SAVED”. In Romans 11:14, he said, “If by any means I may provoke to emulation THEM WHICH ARE MY FLESH, and MIGHT SAVE SOME OF THEM.

    Romans9:1-8
say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost, 2 That I have GREAT HEAVINESS and CONTINUAL SORROW in my heart. 3 For I could WISH THAT MYSELF WERE ACCURSED from Christ FOR MY BRETHREN, MY KINSMEN ACCORDING to THE FLESH: 4 Who are ISRAELITES; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises; 5 Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is over all, God blessed forever.

    Romans10:1-4
Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for ISRAEL is, that they MIGHT BE SAVED. 2 For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. 3 For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. 4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone that believeth.

Again, The Apostle Paul was not referring to Israel of the flesh in Romans 11:26, when he said, “all Israel shall be saved”, but to “the Israel of God”. He made this very clear in Romans 9:6-8, Galatians 4:25-31; Galatians 3:28-29 and Galatians 6:15-16.

    Romans9:6-8
Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect.

    Galatians4:25-26
For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children. 26 But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all. 27 For it is written, Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not; break forth and cry, thou that travailest not: for THE DESOLATE HATH MANY MORE CHILDREN THAN she which hath an husband. 28 Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are THE CHILDREN OF PROMISE. 29 But as then he that was BORN AFTER THE FLESH persecuted him that was BORN AFTER THE SPIRIT, even so it is now. 30 Nevertheless what saith the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman. 31 So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free.

    Galatians3:28-29
There is neither JEW NOR GREEK, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for YE ARE ALL ONE IN CHRIST JESUS. 29 And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and HEIRS according to THE PROMISE.

    Galatians6:15-16
For IN CHRIST Jesus NEITHER CIRCUMCISION availeth anything, NOR UNCIRCUMCISION, but a new creature. 16 And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon THE ISRAEL OF GOD.

  8. Thank you, Marlene, for pointing out these things. I stand corrected where I erroneously said, “no saved Jewish believers.” Of course there were and are, as you cited with Paul and many others…In dealing with all things “Jewish” it is difficult keeping everything straight. For instance, Paul, a Jew of the tribe of Benjamin and a ex-Pharisee, is indeed an Israelite, insomuch that he is a descendant of one of the twelve tribes of Jacob/Israel. All offspring of the man Judah and Benjamin are not only Judaites, but by geographical locality, as in residents of the Kingdom of Judah, back in the day.

But, subjects of the Kingdom of Israel (Ten tribes with capital of Samaria, back in the day) are not Jews back then. Nor are the Hebrew patriarchs, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and those who went before them, and many who came after them. Hebrews, yes, but they were never called Jews.

And then there is the can of worms of all the converted Jews, who were never descended from Judah or Benjamin, not to mention their father Jacob/Israel. Converted peoples like the Khazars during the middle ages and the Esauites/Edomites at 125 BC, the latter of which became top dogs in the ruling Jewish religious classes during the Savior’s walk on earth 150 years later. They abounded in the Holy Land during that time and called themselves Jews, of which Christ had a problem (John 8: 44).

It is a tangled skein of yarn to keep track of and a great mystery to unravel. And there is spiritual Israel and the natural fleshly Israel to discern. And then there is the matter of spiritual growth in the spiritual realm.
